HOW WE OPERATE

Community Guidelines

Last updated: June 2025

PerformConnect Arts is built for serious performers and industry professionals. We hold the space to a high standard — because your career deserves it.

01

Be professional

Your profile represents your professional identity. Use your real name or your established professional name, and represent your work honestly — your credits, your role, your location.

Exaggerating your experience or impersonating another artist or organisation is grounds for immediate removal. The industry is small. Credibility is everything.

02

Respect boundaries

When you contact another member, do so with a clear, genuine professional purpose. Artists on this platform are here to work — not to receive unsolicited personal attention, flattery that crosses professional lines, or persistent contact after they've not responded.

Industry subscribers: you have a higher responsibility. Artists share their contact details trusting they will be used professionally. That trust is not to be abused.

03

Quality over quantity

Every opportunity posted on PerformConnect Arts should be real, specific, and honest. State clearly whether the work is paid or unpaid. If it's unpaid, say so upfront — don't bury it or dress it up as “exposure.”

Vague posts, mass-casting calls with no real project behind them, or opportunities designed to extract free work under false pretences will be removed.

04

Protect your peers

If you see something that doesn't look right — a suspicious profile, a misleading opportunity posting, inappropriate contact from another member — report it. Use the report function or email us at hello@performconnect.co.uk.

We review reports quickly and act on them. This community only works if we look out for one another.

05

No gatekeeping

Talent comes in all forms. PerformConnect Arts does not tolerate discrimination of any kind — on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or any other protected characteristic.

Discriminatory language in profiles, messages, or opportunity postings will result in immediate account removal. No appeals process for this category of violation.

06

Industry standards

If you hold an industry subscription — as a label, venue, promoter, publisher, or similar — you are held to the standards of a professional entity. That means:

  • Treat artists as the professionals they are
  • Provide proper written agreements for paid engagements
  • Pay promptly and at the rate agreed
  • Respond to enquiries — even if the answer is no; silence wastes people's time

Industry accounts that consistently fail to uphold these standards, or that receive multiple substantiated complaints, will be suspended.

07

Content standards

PerformConnect Arts is a professional platform. Content must stay within those bounds:

  • No explicit, adult, or NSFW content
  • No self-promotion spam — posting the same content repeatedly across the platform
  • No soliciting off-platform payments or encouraging members to bypass the platform's systems
  • No content promoting illegal activity
08

Consequences

We apply proportionate consequences:

  • First offences (minor violations, content removal, honest mistakes) — a warning and guidance
  • Repeated violations — temporary suspension
  • Serious violations (harassment, discrimination, fraud, impersonation) — immediate permanent removal, no appeals

Removed accounts are not refunded for any remaining subscription period.

These guidelines exist so every performer on PerformConnect Arts can build their career in a space that takes them seriously. We don't compromise on that.
